Nobody understands better than me how totally cute Lucy is...thus I understand the frustration of her fans (ie: anyone in the grandparent category) when I neglect my blogging duties. What can I say? Life has been pretty busy for all of us around Chez Dietz-Purcell. That being said, here's a whole slew of new Lucy pictures, with BONUS PIGTAILS!!
This is, for some reason, a giant hollowed out rock that sits at one of the multiple playgrounds near our house. Perhaps this is some yuppy art installation made especially for parents to get cutesy pictures of their kids in a pseudo-natural setting? I'm not sure, but it kind of reminds me of the egg that brought Mork to Earth, which makes a lot of sense since one of Lucy's favorite words is "NANU!" (aka: Binky).
Lucy has pretty much mastered the playground at this point. Here you can see her climbing up a rope ladder which leads to a very tall slide. This is a skill that will come in handy when she finally makes it as a professional wrestler in Mexico.
Lucy loves this swing, which is sort of weirdly half Barcalounger and half Throne. Perfect for the Queen of the Playground who hasn't forgotten her redneck roots (see last picture).
Here, Lucy is visiting Daddy and Uncle Scott, who have been doing some work in Uncle Scott's basement. Uncle Scott is also dogsitting a bulldog for a friend, and Lucy was quite thrilled to get some quality boof-boof time in.
In general, Lucy HATES for me to mess with her hair. I'm convinced this is *that thing.* You know, when your parent says "Someday, you're gonna have a kid JUST LIKE YOU," and you know they mean it as a threat?? I notoriously did not allow my mom to do any of the girly things she wanted to me, and now I am experiencing full karmic payback. But, good thing for me, I'm immune to tears (I'm like Chuck Norris that way), so I persevere and put Lucy's hair in pigtails anyway, because it is SO CUTE. Seriously, every time she says "OW!" and points at her head,
I'm all like, hold on, let me just twist this elastic One. More. Time.
Remember what I was saying about the Dietz-Purcell redneck roots? Yeah...these are the crooked gap teeth of a kid with a really shallow orthodontic genepool.
