Despair Park

When the weather is nice (and, here I'm speaking in a strictly relative "Seattle" sense of the word "nice") we like to take Lucy to the playground. Today, since it was a balmy 50 degrees with 25mph winds, we thought it would be a great day to go to the dog park. Lucy normally enjoys the doggies, and there's a pretty nice playground there. So...as evidence of our neverending quest to make Lucy's life as miserable as possible - here's some pictures of her enjoying our day at the park.

But, lest you think that Lucy's life is one long parade of sadness, behold - the RUBBER DUCKY BABY SPA TUB!!!

Bonus: Lucy got new pajama's that say "Grrrrrr!" I spend approximately 600 hours trying to get one picture of her being all "Grrrrrrr"y in her new pj's. I think I'll have to keep trying - but at least she's cute! :)

More San Diego...

Lucy met Grandpa Frank's bulldog - Indy. The first thing she did was pull his face off, and he took it very well. I almost died from fear when Grandpa Frank said "Oh, he's never been around a baby before"....LUCY - STOP PULLING THE DOG'S FACE OFF!! But, it all went very well.

Indy has to stay outside because he needs to be in the cool shade, he gets very overheated easily. Lucy and he maintained their relationship through the glass though, so that was good.

Another thing Lucy decided on this trip is that she's very beautiful. The hotel had mirrored closet doors and Lucy took full advantage to kneel in front of them for at least an hour every day, admiring herself. Mirror, mirror on the wall...who's the awesomest baby of them all?? LUCY!!

What IS that orange-yellow ball in the sky?

Poor Lucy - I think this weekend in San Diego may have been her first taste of actual sunlight. We put her outside and let her play and crawl around and every time she looked at me, I would notice her white, white skin and the pink around her eyes. Note to self: get that kid out in the sun more often!! We took LOTS of pictures of the extended family, and I think I'll get to those later. First...Lucy in the sun. YAY!

The pre-San Diego picture round-up

Brian and Lucy and I are going to San Diego tomorrow for four days to meet and visit with Lucy's great-grandparents (Brian's paternal grandparents). We're all pretty excited, despite the fact that there have been earthquakes over the past week down there, and I'm home sick today with a stomach bug. Sigh.

Anyway, since I'm home, I decided to put up some pics from over the Easter holiday, a time period during which Grandma and Grandpa Dietz came to visit (YAY!), the whole family got together for a BBQ (YAY!), and Lucy got her first TWO black eyes (BOO!).

I like this picture because, when left to her own crawling devices, Lucy went straight for the Diet Coke. ATTA GIRL!

Lucy (looking like she just got left a prize fight or something), and Grandma Linda (looking beautiful with a big smile and a new haircut).

A new toy! This little car can either be ridden on and pushed with your feet, or it folds out into a little walker type thing (which we haven't tried yet). So far, Lucy is very impressed, as am I. She's all smiles and can already push herself backwards, which hopefully will at least keep her from hitting anything else with the FRONT of her face.

Pineapple Upside Down Baby!!! Lucy has recently discovered that she loves to hang upside down. Now we just have to find a way to keep the formula and baby food where it belongs. Ick.

We'll be back on Monday with pictures from San Diego, hopefully at least a few of them showing the sun (I hope I recognize it when and if I see it!).
